Life Explained in an Email

Humorous? Sure why not....
---------------------------------------------------------

On the first day, God created the dog and said:
'Sit all day by the door of your house and bark at anyone who comes in orwalks past. For this, I will give you a life span of twenty years.'

The dog said: 'That's a long time to be barking. How about only ten yearsand I'll give you back the other ten?'

So God agreed.

On the second day, God created the monkey and said:
'Entertain people, do tricks, and make them laugh. For this, I'll give youa twenty-year life span.'

The monkey said: ' Monkey tricks for twenty years? That's a pretty longtime to perform. How about I give you back ten like the Dog did?'

And God agreed.

On the third day, God created the cow and said:
'You must go into the field with the farmer all day long and suffer underthe sun, have calves and give milk to support the farmer's family. Forthis, I will give you a life span of sixty years.'

The cow said: 'That's kind of a tough life you want me to live for sixtyyears. How about twenty and I'll give back the other forty?'

And God agreed again.

On the fourth day, God created man and said:
'Eat, sleep, play , marry and enjoy your life. For this, I'll give youtwenty years.'

But man said: 'Only twenty years? Could you possibly give me my twenty, theforty the cow gave back, the ten the monkey gave back, and the ten the doggave back; that makes eighty, okay?'

'Okay,' said God, 'You asked for it.'

So that is why for our first twenty years we eat, sleep, play and enjoy ourselves. For the next forty years we slave in the sun to support ourfamily. For the next ten years we do monkey tricks to entertain thegrandchildren. And for the last ten years we sit on the front porch andbark at everyone.

Life has now been explained to you.

Some of that New New

I heard about this website today on the radio...The Way College Guide. I went to check it out and right up at the top I saw a glimpse from an article about a college professor and his views of being a Christian in today's not so christian universities and institutions.

Check it out: College as Another World

I thought it was pretty cool and wouldn't mind checking out the book the article was taken from. What do you think?

Week #47 Do What I Say

Hola Holy Bloggerians...

I hope everyone is doing well. This week's Bible study is up! Check it out when you get a chance. And thanks to all who posted comments last week and the previous weeks. Just let it flow...great thing about commenting on a blog is hopefully you feel free to say whatever the Lord has laid on your heart about the topic.

I think it is very helpful to see what other people have to say about the topics we talk about on this blog. It is good to see how other people have struggled and handled different situations.

From One Pumpkin to Another

Received this in an email and thought it was a nice visual of what it is like becoming a Christian. Hope you enjoy!

---------------
A woman was asked by a coworker, 'What is it like to be a Christian?'

The coworker replied, 'It is like being a pumpkin.' God picks you from
the patch, brings you in, and washes all the dirt off of you. Then He
cuts off the top and scoops out all the yucky stuff.

He removes the seeds of doubt, hate, and greed. Then He carves you a new
smiling face and puts His light inside of you to shine for all the world to see.'
