Thank God!

Wanted to do a little Praising Jesus for some of the many things He has done recently...
  • Friend of mine got an internship she needed yesterday!
  • My dad has continued to get better and stronger day by day.
  • Friend's mother is recovering from a successful knee surgery.
  • One friend had safe travels on a trip to California for a NCAA rowing match. We pray for them to do well in the race(s) and to have a safe trip back.
  • Kind words and inspiration from a variety of people on the blog! (Thank you.)

These are just a few things I have seen God do recently. Feel free to list more things and any prayer requests you may have. Happy Thoughts and God Bless!

Books I Want to Read (Part 1)

I have been really trying to read more lately. I feel like I watch TV way too much (except for basketball season, then I can't get enough ah ha). Here are few "christian books" that I want to read in the near future. I think I can do it...

  1. In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day: How to Survive and Thrive When Opportunity Roars by Mark Batterson
  2. unChristian: What a New Generation Really Thinks about Christianity...and Why it Matters by David Kinnaman and Gabe Lyons
  3. Future Men by Douglas Wilson
  4. Why Men Hate Going to Church by David Murrow
  5. Becoming a Contagious Christian by Bill Hybels and Mark Mittelburg

Week #25 Story in an Email

Howdy Doodie Folks...

Took it easy this week and decided to post a story I read in an email I received not too long ago. Some of you may have read it, some of you probably haven't.

It has a great message and really makes me think about the way we spend our time here on earth and the types of things we value.

When you get a chance...please read this story about a guy with a really nice car, two little boys, a brick, and a wheelchair. It rocks!

Week #24 Scaredy Cat

Hello All...

I wanted to thank all of you for your prayers and concerns for my dad over the past week. It truly means a lot to him and our family.

This past week has really opened my eyes to how fragile life can be and how quickly your entire life can be totally flipped upside down. I can't even begin to imagine the pain and discomfort my dad is and has been experiencing over these past few days.

I can't count the number of things that I have seen God doing through all of this and it is amazing. I hate that this happened to my dad, but it is comforting to know that God has complete control over everything that is going on. When I feel helpless, I know that God is not and that He hasn't and will not leave my dad alone and that makes me smile. God is awesome!

Please keep the prayers coming. We have a long road ahead of us, but light at the end of the tunnel is very bright.

Interesting Truck

Never give the devil a ride. He will always want to drive.

Proverbs 17:22
I saw this on the side of an 18-wheeler today on the highway. Thought it was pretty cool/funny.
