No Bible Study This Week

Decided not to post a Bible study this week. If you didn't get a chance to read the last one please do this week. Please be praying for this blog, for the potential it has, and that the Lord will use it in many ways. I hope everybody has a great week and I look forward to hopefully reading some more comments.

Exam Week

For all of us struggling with exams this week...don't get stressed out! Here are some tips to get you through the week...

Tip 1 Establish a routine
Set aside a particular time each day for study and revision and stick to it.
Tip 2 Create a study environment
This should be away from interruptions and household noise, such as the television. And try not to study on your bed...it is a trap! (haha)
Tip 3 Set a timetable
With a timetable you can plan to cover all your subjects in an organized way, allotting the appropriate time for each without becoming overwhelmed.
Tip 4 Look after yourself
Drink plenty of fluids, especially water, and eat healthy foods. Keep sugary foods to a minimum. Make sure you get enough sleep each night. Regular physical exercise makes you feel great, boosts your energy and helps you relax. So try to keep up regular sporting activities or at least fit in some regular exercise as often as you can.
Tip 5 Reward yourself for studying
Watch your favorite television program, spend time with your friends, walk to the park and play a sport throughout the week.
Tip 6 Have variety in your study program
Study different subjects each day and do different types of work during each study session.
Tip 7 Avoid interrupting your concentration
Have all the appropriate materials with you before you start a session of study to minimize distractions.
Tip 8 Test yourself on what you have studied
Ask your friends to quiz you on what you have learned.
Tip 9 Don't panic now that it is exam time
You have been going over this stuff for the past few months...no need to panic now. Try to keep yourself calm, positive and confident.
Tip 10 Ask your teachers for guidance
Especially if you're having trouble - whether it's grasping a new concept or understanding something you learned earlier in the year. They will be happy to help.

Living Clean in a Contaminated World

READ: 2 Corinthians 6:14-7:1

When Satan was cast down from heaven, he was given dominion over earth for a period of time. Known as the father of lies (John 8:44), he opposes anything related to the Lord. Because we are all made in God's image, the Enemy seeks to thwart us. Under his rule, our world has become morally and spiritually contaminated.
We come into the world physically alive but spiritually dead and in rebellion against the Lord (Ephesians 2:1-2). Yet by trusting Jesus as our Savior, we receive a new nature and are adopted into God's family. Before salvation, man is enslaved to sin and unable to free himself. But through the Holy Spirit, believers have the power to say no to wrongdoing and yes to godliness (Titus 2:12).

Because of our new identity as children of God, we can't let ourselves become bound together intimately with unbelievers--we no longer share the same nature or purpose. Followers of Jesus are called to serve as His ambassadors, spreading knowledge of the Savior and living righteous lives. We're to put aside our own desires and instead embrace His. In addition, we must admit when we've sinned and then seek His forgiveness. And of course, we worship the heavenly Father through His Son. These concepts are foreign to someone who doesn't belong to Christ.

We are wise to choose as our most intimate friends and trusted advisers those who have received Jesus Christ as their Savior. How beneficial it is to receive counsel based on Scripture and to have role models who point us toward the Son.

Some Things Need to be Talked About...

(Masturbation) (Pornography)

Check out these two links. These are very important issues that need to be discussed! Many men and women struggle with these issues and they are both very dangerous weapons used by the devil to damage testimonies, relationships, and spiritual walks.

I am more than willing to talk about these issues if you want to. I know many people wouldn't feel comfortable posting comments about these two subjects, but feel free to email me with questions or comments.
