Daily Scripture

If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless. Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

James 1:26-27

  1. Christians are watched and scrutinized more than anyone on the face of the earth. We can spend our entire lives professing our faith and trying to be "Christ-like," and one mistake can jeopardize everything we've worked so hard to portray. The first part of this scripture illustrates that perfectly. I know of "Christians" who go to church every Sunday, but spend Monday telling everybody how wasted they were Friday and Saturday night. What kind of witness is that to non-believers? Why should they "change" if "Christians" are doing the same things they are? What we do, where we go, and especially what we say as Christians is extremely important. I think this site is a great idea Jon. I need it more than anyone. Thanks.

  2. This is so true. We really do have to live our lives in a certain way that promotes God and His kingdom and doesn't drive them further away from the Lord. Thanks for joining the team mr.
