Ephesians 2:8-9

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast.

  1. I've definitely been struggling with the concept of GRACE lately. I've always had too much confidence in "my own abilities" and I don't go to God about things when I should.

Lord help me to realize that "my abilities" are gifts from You and help me realize the importance of recognizing You for who You are. Help me to appreciate what being saved by grace truly means!

  2. I know exactly what you mean Jon. I always try to have a "Plan A" and a "Plan B" but in recent years God has truly shown me just how important trusting in HIM and ONLY HIM. His grace is definitely sufficient!!!!
My prayer is also to recognize that I am nothing without Him....that my plans really are so unimportant...THAT GOD IS IN CONTROL and loves me beyond measure!!!

  3. I think it's interesting how grace does cover such a multitude of sin... but what I'm learning is that if we have truly accepted HIS grace (realize within) .. we wouldn't want to do wrong. I think many people get caught up in constantly going back to sin in their lives and then saying: "God's grace will cover this." That's true, but if you really have given your life to Christ and praise Him for this grace, you will do everything you can to stay away from those sinful things in your life. God is a God of grace, but he is also a Jealous God, one whom we should fear!
